Greetings! My name is Portia Wilson. I have my Master’s in Social Work and I am an Intern Therapist working to earn my hours to become a License Clinical Social Worker. I am a 12-year Air Force Veteran with a passion for helping others. My previous experience in social work consists of working with diverse background, children with special needs, homelessness, previously incarnated individuals, and veterans. As a mom, I know that successful therapy with youth and adolescents requires a teamwork approach. I look forward to working with multiple age groups and those who require thinking outside the box.
Growing up in Chicago and experiencing a vast of adversities sparked my interest in the social work field. I believe people want to be heard, understood, and valued. I provide a genuine approach and adjust my style based on the client’s unique needs. I am honored to have the opportunity to build a therapeutic relationship and help you become a better you. Portia Wilson is under clinical Supervision with Chelsea McKinney-Scott, LCSW-S.
